doing my best...

As many of you know my baby girl arrived five weeks early. She wasn't due until January 19th and she decided that she didn't want to be in my belly anymore so I went into labor on December 16th and had her at 12:11 am on the 17th. Right now I'm very overwhelmed w/ being a mommy to a newborn and trying to keep things the same with my 10-year old son. This has been kind of a hard transition for him considering he's been our baby for the past 10 years. He LOVES his sister to pieces and is so happy she is here but he now has to share his attention and he's not so sure about that. It's only been a week and three days so everything is fairly new to us and I'm trying to do my best.

Since I wasn't expecting baby girl until January, I had set deadlines for senior orders on the 16th. Those orders have been ordered and should be here sometime this week.
I haven't been on the computer much to check emails and have had my phone off due to trying to recover from delivery, get some much needed sleep (considering I only slept three hours from Friday to Monday while in the hospital), taking care of a baby who needs mommy every two hours not to mention spend time with my son, spending the holiday weekend w/ my family who I don't get to see that much and yesterday was my birthday. So I apologize if I haven't returned your email...I'm doing my best.

I had so many things I wanted to get done before maternity leave and I didn't quite get there so I'm asking please be patient with me. I'm in no way trying to hang you dry, this is a situation that was out of my control. I really can't take the stress right now and I really don't want to deal with stress considering I have the "new mommy" blues and cry over everything and anything. I'm willing to work w/ you (print credit or extra images on disc) as long as you stay patient.
I'm still taking it easy this week but hopefully by Tuesday the 3rd I will get everything that I need to get done and officially start my maternity leave sometime next week!!!!

Once again I apologize for the inconvenience.

9.10.11 was a day of LOVE!!!  I absolutely loved photographing this couple, from their engagement session to the biggest day of their lives.  It's been such an honor.  Love, happiness and tears filled the day.  They brought tears to my eyes several times as I watched those special moments through my lens and then of course there were the moments when all we could do was laugh.
It was hard picking out my favorites for a sneak peek b/c there are soooooo many good ones.  So here's the selection I picked.
Sarah & Shad- I hope you enjoy your sneak peek and thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a beautiful day, I enjoyed every minute of it.  Hope you two have a blast on your honeymoon! XO

I've been plotting for about a month on how we would tell my mother-in-law the news if this baby was a girl. I wanted to make it super duper special for her. We have no girls on my husband's side of the family. My in-laws had three boys and those three boys all had boys, giving them 5 AWESOME little grand dudes!!! Yep, that's right all boys and they all start w/ a B...Braeden, Boston, Bryson, Blayne and Brody.

When I found out I was pregnant my brother, Vince, said "it's a girl!" Grandma Lori already has her basketball team of 5 boys and now this one is her cheerleader and he was right!!!

So back to the surprise...The pictures pretty much tell the story. When she got home from work she had a puzzle on her sidewalk...the suspense...and then she opened her gift and cried!!...mission accomplished =)

P.S. for those of you wondering if little miss pease will have a "B" name...The answer is no, she gets her own letter...lol!!!!

We are so excited to announce we're adding PINK to our family...IT'S A GIRL!!!! Could somebody pinch me b/c I'm still in shock!!!
Last night I could hardly sleep, all I could think about was our future...blue or pink? I counted down the hours and woke up several times b/c of crazy dreams.
Not trying to sound selfish but I really really wanted a girl. As a little girl I always dreamed about having my own little girl and doing the things we love.
The time came for our ultrasound. The tech lady was so sweet and talked us through all the body parts...then came time for what's between the legs and she said the words I have always dreamed of "it's a little girl". I said "are you serious?" and she said yep, I'm 99.9% positive! I started crying and she handed me a tissue. I looked over to my husband and son, they were beaming with big smiles and we all started to laugh w/ joy!!! At the end of the ultrasound my husband made her double check to make sure it was a girl and she explained to him that girls have lines (their cookie..lol) and boys would show something much different...hahaha!!!!
When we left I told my husband to pinch me b/c I still can't believe it. On our way home he said I guess we are in for pigtails, hair bows and dresses...sounds expensive!!!...lol!
We can't wait to hold our little girl in our arms and introduce her to our family and friends =)

Here's to January!!!

sending birthday wishes to heaven | personal

Today, I'm sending birthday wishes & hugs to my brother, Jerald. He would have been 42 years old. I can't help but wonder how his life would be today if he was still here. Who would be his wife and would he have any children. Did his white patch of hair grow any bigger? Would he look more and more like my dad...I'll never know in this life time.
Happy birthday to my GUARDIAN ANGEL!! I miss you everyday and will continue to miss you until we meet again. LOVE YOU!!!! XOXO

I have to confess, this kid made me a tad bit nervous at first. He wanted nothing to do with me and was throwing a wee fit. After 20 minutes he kind of forgot about not wanting pictures taken and warmed up to the camera. Here are some of my FAVORITE images of this little stinker. Isn't he adorable?! I wanted to take him home...lol!
I must say my favorite image is of him licking the window. I think it should be on a Hallmark card to brighten up someones day. I laugh every time I see it.
Thank you Mr. Lincoln for a fun evening =)

Okay, I have to admit this is one of my FAVORITE engagement sessions I have done to date. I feel so blessed and honored that Sarah found me and chose me as her photographer for her wedding.
I had such a blast photographing these two. Sarah had some special request, which was to add Shad's baby {his bike} into the pics and then of course how they met...playing soccer at Camp Clay. I feel like the pictures tell their story.
I can't wait to photograph their wedding 9.10.11!! It's just around the corner =)
